How about two?
I found these on the side of the road during a recent long run. I was almost to my turnaround for the day, when I spotted the cooler!
There..
In the ditch
on the side of the highway.
I really wanted a little cooler! (enough to come back with the car later, since it can be a challenge to carry one running for nine more miles)
When I came by after church, it was still there. No surprise, since the cooler is green and it kind of blended in!!
I was REALLY excited when I discovered a can of beer, unopened, three feet away, in a little foam insulator/snuggie. And a bonus one inside the cooler!
On another day, I would have stopped and cracked one open and drank it on the spot! Unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately for you) I don't drink anymore, and in my beer days I was a bit of a beer snob. It shouldn't surprise me that a beer snuggie on a Busch can has an OSU design. Haha.
This is even better than the time I found the pocket tool. :)
Have you found anything great on a run recently?
Are you bored? Come on over! Drinks are on me! ***
Congrats on scoring a cooler! I'm a bit of a beer snob myself as I sit here drinking a Schlafly Extra Stout, yum!
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely NO idea what that is, but it sounds refreshing!! :) Hope you have a great weekend!
DeleteSo funny! I might pass on the beer choice there but I'd gladly come on over and chill with you and your new cooler. :) xo
ReplyDeleteCome on over!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I found some great friends on my training rides recently. ;-)
ReplyDeleteNo, but I lost my drivers license on a run today! :(
ReplyDeleteHa ha!! Busch light! I am a huge beer snob-I do drink and I love beer but only the good stuff:) I am also known to drink beer on my runs, especially from college kids taunting me and bringing me back to my 20's!! Nice find though. One can NEVER have too many green coolers. Yes, the pocket tool-ha! Raina, I would just love to come over right now. I would settle for the Busch light in a Frosty mug.
ReplyDeleteOSU? I was thinking WSU. Just surprised you did not come across a guy passed out in that ditch - with the cooler. Of course wearing and OSU or WSU T with the sleeves cut off at the shoulders, using the cooler as a pillow. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice score indeed! I picked up a cricket ball the other day and R20.00 (20 SA Rand) last weekend. I did pick up R250.00 once.
ReplyDeleteGood score on a cooler! If I lived closer - could I pass on the beer and go for a run? I hardly ever get to run with anyone.
ReplyDeleteBeer snob eh? I'm married to a brewer so I'm a bit of a snob/not snob. IT has to taste good, and not off, but, that's it (except coors light, which is not a real beer - and that's the Cdn stuff!).
ReplyDeleteHILARIOUS!
ReplyDeleteHaven't found anything interesting lately, but I kid you not that last summer, my running partner and I were on a jaunt and a bird fell out of the sky DEAD and landed about 5 feet in front of us. This was in addition to the dead birds that we were finding on previous runs together. Did I mention that I live in hell?
As for beer, I am totally and completely hooked on Cheladas right not (Bud Light + Clamato).
That is too funny! Some poor college student will be wondering if he drank it or someone stole it! You are collecting quite the loot there!
ReplyDeleteIf there was only one beer left behind, it explains why the cooler was forgotten. He/she must have killed the other 5.
ReplyDeleteWhew!!! I am so glad to know I am "normal" I have returned with the Burb after spotting some "treasure" on a run and loaded up-lol. As always you are hilarious Raina. I was a bit of a beer snob too when I drank beer:)
ReplyDeleteHaha...love this! I never find anything worthwhile on my runs, but it could be that most of my runs are in the dark, so I probably just can't see. :)
ReplyDeleteToo funny! I don't think I've ever found anything fun on a run... looking forward to hearing your training updates!
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about beer. Never liked it - I think I missed my change in college and I am a lost cause, ha! Still, I would come over just to look at beer if you were there:)
ReplyDeleteUh-oh - maybe you took someone's running fluids left out for their long run!
ReplyDeleteI've seen/found on a run - a gator in a ditch. As in... alligator!
cold beer on a run??? so so tempting! Unfortunately, I do still drink...we'll just change that subject at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI found a cool pair of sunglasses on the beach when I was running that I snatched...shhh!
I just read a blogger who "fuels" with beer on her Half Marathons...maybe you DID take someones running fluids! HA!
ReplyDeleteI am teetotal, sorry.
ReplyDeleteYes recently on a run I have found .... a deep pain inside my knee!
ah ... just now I am drinking a cold pepsi and eating a slice of chocolate cake.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. That's cool. I've never found anything cool on a run.
ReplyDeleteOh oh. Someone's gonna be sad without their beer!
ReplyDeleteI found a really cool toque once. I washed it and wore it a couple of times. It was like brand new! That's it though :)

My Running Shortz
Hehe! I once found 80 bucks, of which I promptly went and bought an outfit. I did look around some for the owner since that is a nice wad to find on the road, however, but nobody was around! $
ReplyDeleteJackpot!!! Too bad you don't drink the good stuff anymore, because some cheap beer may have been just what you needed mid run :)
ReplyDeleteAn hour after the funeral of one of my running buddies I went for a run in his memory. Lying on the trail was a crisp new £5 note. It was as if my departed friend was saying "Have a drink on me". I did!
ReplyDeleteNot so hot on the beer but YAY new cooler! =)
