I used a new route for running long recently...and I love it!
It starts off with a route that I use on some other long runs, except I turn a different direction.
On one side of the road...all trees and ferns. On the other side, all river and trees.
And just a small section of gravel for a few miles.
I took this run nice and easy, keeping it between 8:20-8:45, since I was still recovering from a cold (and much better now).
Hope everyone is having a great long run this weekend- or enjoying some good recovery time!
Raina, these pics are gorgeous. Wow!! Such a blessing to live in such beauty! I read your other post right before my run earlier...just haven't had a chance to comment yet. So glad you shared your thoughts and heart with us...I know it isn't always easy to share these sides. Anyway, I'll save that comment and get back to this post...Nice photography too! Do you have just a little camera that fits in your pocket?
ReplyDeleteYep....just the little cannon and I put it in my fuel belt. :) Hope you had a great run!
DeleteWow, that looks beautiful. I love Oregon. Glad your run went well. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurie. It was a few weeks ago now, but very very enjoyable.
DeleteOh, how lovely!! Still pretty brown in Colorado (but I'm not complaining) but not for much longer.
ReplyDeleteWe never get brown over winter, but we do a bit over the summer. Funny how that works!
DeleteBeautiful pictures, so green! We are just starting to green up here. I miss the green!
ReplyDeleteWow, so beautiful where you live, Raina!
ReplyDeleteWhat BEAUTIFUL pictures! Thank you for sharing them. What a great place to run! :)
ReplyDeletewow, what a beautiful place to run! Looks very peaceful, like somewhere nice to get away to for clearing the mind.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great long run route. I want to run there!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful run! Glad you're feeling better - I wish I had an area to run through like that, definitely would take your mind off of the miles!
ReplyDelete"Rave Run" has nothing on those pics! Wow, and I thought where I lived was nice!! Awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat is GORGEOUS! I would love to go for a run there! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThat scenery is gorgeous!! I wish i had a place close to me around that. I currently live in the city but I'm a country girl at heart.
ReplyDeletewhere the heck do you live??? I'm coming to visit;)
ReplyDeleteHi Raina--Our homily at church this morning was all about the difference between God's time and our time. Sometimes God moves (to our perception) very very very very slowly, and it's frustrating when we want to be where we want to be RIGHT NOW. But God's foolishness is wiser than our wisdom, and the more we can accept that the more content we will be. I felt like the whole thing was directed straight at me, with my back injury and the interdiction on running that I'm under. Just wanted to say....I know where you're coming from! We both just have to trust that God knows where we are going and wants us to negotiate the valleys as well as the peaks with grace....
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to run! Absolutely gorgeous
ReplyDeleteDo you sell running calendars?!! I could totally see all of those pictures in my monthly runner's world calendar! I am so jealous of your scenery! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful and would keep me running for a long time! I love the Pacific North West so much. I melt when I see a fern. Show me a sequoia and I'm in heaven! How I envy your "nice and easy" pace! You are so speedy Raina, even when you aren't trying to be!
ReplyDeleteThe pics are making me miss my home state of VT. I would love to be running in the mountains. Enjoy every moment you have.
ReplyDeleteYou and I definitely live in different worlds! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that with the 20-miler success that your knee is holding up much better!! I hope it continues to do so.

What a beautiful place to run!
ReplyDeleteI would love to run this!! I hope the traffic is light (and attentive). It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow, you have some phenomenal pics! Especially the first one, with the mist clouding the next turn. I'm with the people above, you should turn this into a running calendar! When I was in Portland I thought it had amazing scenery to run in.
ReplyDeleteYou are soooo fortunate. Flat out amazing place you live in.
ReplyDeleteThose are some pretty pictures! If only it didn't rain so much up there! I'd love to run some ultras up there one of these days (when the kids are a little older). Maybe by then, you'll be ready to join me!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures! It makes such a difference to mix up the long run route and have a new experience. I can't wait to get back out there!
ReplyDeletebtw, can't remember if I already told you, but I dropped the wordpress part of my url, so i'd love if you could update it on your blogroll when you have time. thanks! :) mommyrunfast.com
DeleteRunning is such a great way to get in touch with nature, and be amazed by her beauty! I love your pics.
ReplyDeleteThe route is gorgeous. Is it dangerous to run along the road like that? Be careful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a scenic route! Glad you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteIncredibly beautiful countryside. I would love to run in that area.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Nature is best enjoyed on foot...I think :)
ReplyDeleteMust be quite beautiful running alongside that river with the smell of vegetation and sunlight glancing through the trees. And you were running at a pretty good pace over 20 miles. Well done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful route! I love running through/near the trees .
