Here's my attempt at Running Haiku, and a little glimpse of my morning.
I am very blessed to live where I can have a rave run everyday!
Coffee in the pot
Four-thirty alarm clock sounds
Drink up and get dressed
Out the door in dark
Cranking flashlight as I run
Down the gravel drive
Rubber hits asphalt
Footsteps quicken as I go
Long-sleeve shirt comes off
Headlights pierce through dark
I move next to the white line
Log truck rumbles by
Violet sunrise
Fog lifts in silver patches
Cool mist kisses me
Near my turnaround
A herd of elk stands silent
Watching nervously
Mailbox is in sight
Stop my watch and stretch awhile
Morning run complete
Wonderful writing. I love the things you do.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could run with you, that's just a fantasy.
