I thought I might try to.
It belongs to my friends and I thought the kids would like to pet it. So I made an attempt.
It seems that a chicken can get around pretty well on only one leg.
I didn't want to wind up icing my ankle again anytime soon, so I gave up after a few half-hearted tries at stalking the bird. Not before my friends got a good laugh, though.
Lester, a good-old-boy from Oklahoma, (Husband to my friend Becky who is a native local from Small Town), quipped in his charming twang,
"You are running in Boston and can't catch a one-legged chicken?"
Hmmmpf. I guess not!
Could YOU catch a one-legged chicken?

Things cross paths as it's day 29 of the Husband Encouragement Challenge and 29 days to Boston! For believers:
As part of a challenge to become a better encourager to my husband, I signed up to receive daily email reminders with practical suggestions. So far, I really have noticed a difference in how we are relating. I think it has also helped that I have been listening to some podcasts that are on the same issue.
Day 29
"A prudent man foresees evil, and hides himself; the simple pass on, and are punished." (Proverbs 27:12)As you near the end of this challenge, take time to think about your husband's responses to the wickedness of the culture, the media, etc. Does your husband recognize and avoid evil? Does he regularly turn his back on pornography, sexual temptations, and the urge to lie and cheat?
This is a valuable character trait. Like Joseph in the Old Testament, who fled from the wicked advances of Potiphar's wife, this takes an understanding that these kinds of sins are first and foremost, sins against God (Genesis 39:9).
Praise your husband when he recognizes and turns his back on wickedness. If you can think of a circumstance where your husband stood for righteousness, remind him of that today--and express your gratitude.

Training stuff:
Not totally sure what's in store for workouts today. I lifted yesterday (kept up with it while injured- but a bit easy on the legs due to the ankle). Legs a bit sore in the hammies today. I might go for a short run and maybe a double later if it looks like there's an opportunity.
Have a great weekend!
